Calvin Sumner M.D.
Dr. Calvin Sumner, MD is the Chief Scientific Officer and Senior VP of Medical Affairs for Pearson’s New Business and Innovation group. Dr. Sumner has over 30 years of medical practice, specializing in Child Psychiatry. He held several positions at the West Virginia University School of Medicine, including the Associate Professor of Psychiatry, Residency Training Director and Chief of Psychiatry. Sumner also worked for Eli Lilly as Medical Advisor and Sr. Research Physician for the US Neuroscience Division. Prior to joining Pearson, Dr. Sumner was the Chief Medical Officer of BioBehavioral Diagnostics Co., which developed the Quotient System. Sumner is a graduate of Columbia University, received his M.D. with honors from the George Washington School of Medicine and his Child Psychiatry fellowship from the Children’s Hospital National Medical Center in Washington, D.C.
Charles Shinaver PhD
Dr. Charles Shinaver, PhD has 24 years of experience as a clinical child psychologist and 18 years in the assessment and treatment of ADHD. He currently serves as a cognition consultant for Pearson. Previously, Dr. Shinaver worked as the Director of Outpatient and Assessment services at Deaconess Hospital in Evansville, IN; Clinical Director of Maryville Streamwood; Clinical Supervisor to therapists and adjunct faculty at Northeastern Illinois University and then at Indiana University Purdue University at Indianapolis; and in private practice. Dr. Shinaver’s degrees are from Notre Dame, Harvard, and De Paul.
Peter Entwistle PhD
Dr. Peter C. Entwistle, PhD is a licensed psychologist who works for Pearson as a Cognition Consultant. He obtained his Bachelor’s degree with Honors in Social Sciences from London University, a Master’s degree in Education from Harvard, and a Ph.D. from Boston College. Dr. Entwistle has been a practicing psychologist for over 23 years. He has worked as a school psychologist, Chief of Child Psychology at a private psychiatric hospital, a pediatric neuropsychologist for a rehabilitation hospital, and a university professor in counseling and school psychology. He joined the Psychological Corporation, now Pearson, in 2002.
Cheryl Ritchie RN, BSN
Cheryl Ritchie, RN, BSN is a registered nurse with over 30 years of clinical research experience in both pharmaceutical and medical device studies. She has conducted in excess of 150 trials across a broad range of therapeutic indications. Prior to her role at Pearson, Cheryl was the Director of Clinical Operations for BioBDx, which developed the Quotient® ADHD System. Her career includes co-founding two research site organizations: Medical Research Associates of Utah, Inc. and the Institute for Neuroscience Research, Inc., where she provided leadership in her roles as Vice President and Chief Operations Officer for both companies.Ms. Ritchie has served as an active member of the University of Utah College of Nursing Development Advisory Board.
